Terms of Use
for the Cozyo app · Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Who we are and what Cozyo is
Cozyo is offered by Manish Rana, Lochmühlstraße 91, 60437 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (“we”). Email: [email protected].
Cozyo is a free app for small, private circles of people who know each other: couples, families and close friends. In a circle you can share your location, photos (snips), winks, places, ideas and trips. These terms apply to everyone who uses the app. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Minimum age and account
You must be at least 16 years old to use Cozyo. By creating an account, you confirm that you are.
Please give your real name or a name your people recognise, and an email address you can access. Keep your password to yourself. Each account belongs to one person. You are responsible for what happens with your account; if you think someone else is using it, change your password and write to us.
3. Circles
- People join a circle only with an invite code from someone who is already in it. A code works for seven days and for one person.
- A circle has room for up to ten people, and you can be in up to ten circles.
- Whoever created a circle can remove people from it. Everyone can leave a circle at any time.
- Invite only people who know you and want to be in the circle.
4. Sharing your location
Sharing your location is voluntary. You decide whether Cozyo may use your location, and you can pause sharing at any time in the app or switch it off in your phone's settings.
Use Cozyo only with people who know about it and agree to it. Installing or setting up Cozyo on someone else's phone to see where they are without their knowledge is forbidden.
Cozyo is made for everyday life and is not an emergency or safety service. Positions can be out of date or inaccurate, and notifications can arrive late. In an emergency, call 112 or your local emergency number.
5. Your content
Everything you post in Cozyo stays yours: snips, captions, replies, reactions, places, ideas, trips and photos. You are responsible for it, and you may only post content you are allowed to share.
So that we can run Cozyo, you allow us to store your content, process it technically and show it to the people in the circle you shared it with. This permission is free of charge, limited to running Cozyo and ends when the content is deleted. Content in shared circles stays with the other members after you delete your account, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. What is not allowed
In Cozyo, you may not post or send anything that
- is illegal, or glorifies or incites violence;
- harasses, threatens, insults or degrades anyone, or stirs up hatred against people because of their origin, religion, gender, sexuality or similar;
- shows sexual content involving minors, or shares intimate images of someone without their consent;
- reveals other people's private information or photos without their consent;
- infringes the rights of others, such as copyright or personality rights;
- is spam or advertising, or contains malware.
It is also forbidden to use Cozyo to watch or follow someone against their will, to access other people's data or accounts, to get around limits such as the circle size or the invite codes, or to disrupt the app or our servers, for example with automated access.
7. Report and block
If something in a circle bothers you, you can block the person or report them or a snip in the app, or write to [email protected]. Blocking takes effect immediately: you no longer see each other in any shared circle. We look at every report, usually within 24 hours.
8. What we may do
If content or an account breaks these terms or the law, we may remove the content, limit the account or block it temporarily or permanently. We act in proportion to the case and take your legitimate interests into account; a warning comes first unless the breach is serious. We will tell you what we did and why, unless the law forbids it or it would put others at risk. If you think we made a mistake, write to us and we will look at it again.
9. Free service and availability
Cozyo is free. We work hard to keep it running, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, free of errors or unchanged. We may develop, change or remove features. If we stop Cozyo altogether, we will tell you at least four weeks in advance, so you can export your data.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee.
For slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an obligation that is essential for using Cozyo at all and on which you may regularly rely (an essential contractual obligation). In that case, our liability is limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of service.
Beyond that, we are not liable for slight negligence. These limits also apply to people who work for us.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Cozyo and delete your account at any time in the app under MORE → “Konto löschen”. We can end your use with four weeks' notice, and without notice for good cause, in particular for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for a valid reason, for example new features, changes in the law or court decisions. We will tell you about changes by email or in the app at least four weeks before they take effect. Changes that significantly shift the balance of rights and obligations between you and us only apply with your agreement, which we will ask for in the app. If you disagree with a change, you can delete your account at any time.
13. Applicable law and disputes
German law applies. If you use Cozyo as a consumer and live in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country remain in effect.
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
